Storytelling has sustained humanity for thousands of years. Not only has storytelling offered entertainment and comfort when we’ve needed it most, but it has also been our chosen method of sharing knowledge since time began.
Despite the significance of storytelling in societies and cultures around the world, however, many stories remain untold because writers lack the confidence to take the reins.
Traditional publishing is a dream route for many writers, yet it doesn’t often offer the freedoms of publishing independently. For instance, you won’t have final say on aspects such as cover design or marketing budget, and must adhere to a traditional publishing timeline – even if you already have a full, hectic work schedule and responsibilities outside of writing.
While you could argue that independently publishing your own books is incredibly hard work as well (perhaps even more so, given that it’s up to you to build your own team of professionals!), it’s a workload that can align with your own timeline. Therefore, it makes no difference if you have the time and budget to produce one book every five years or three books a year, you are in control of the process and it is you alone who’ll reap the rewards.
So, using the experience we’ve gained from working in the literary world, we’ve created our very own, teeny tiny, indie publishing imprint to offer a safe space through which authors can share their lovingly crafted stories.
